## Verified facts

The Galleria Doria Pamphilj, a private picture gallery inside Palazzo Doria Pamphilj at Via del Corso 305, 00186 Rome, Italy, at approximately 41.8977, 12.4808. Four gilded wings run in a cross around an internal courtyard and hold more than four hundred works, hung in the dense floor-to-ceiling arrangement of a private collection rather than a museum. The palace is still the residence of the Doria Pamphilj family; it has been owned by Jonathan Doria Pamphilj and Gesine Pogson Doria Pamphilj since the death of Princess Orietta in 2000. It should not be confused with Villa Doria Pamphili, the public park in the Monteverde district roughly five kilometres west.

- Admission to the Galleria Doria Pamphilj is 16 euros at the ticket desk and 17 euros booked direct
  online through ticketroma.doriapamphilj.it, which adds a 1 euro booking fee. Children under 12

- 'Palazzo Doria Pamphilj is a free park' - that is Villa Doria Pamphili, a different place. The
  Villa is a public park of about 184 hectares in Monteverde, free and open daily from 7 a.m. to
  sunset. The Galleria is a paid private gallery at Via del Corso 305, roughly five kilometres east.
- 'Entry is free on the first Sunday of the month' - it is not. The initiative applies to Italian
  state museums; this collection is privately owned and charges every day it opens.
- 'The audio guide is an optional extra' - it is included in the standard ticket, and it is narrated
  by the current prince.
- 'The Private Apartments cost extra' - no longer true. They were folded into the standard ticket on
  1 August 2023. What does cost extra is the separate Secret Apartments visit on the ground floor,
  which is a different set of rooms under different management.
- 'Secret Apartments' and 'Private Apartments' are treated as synonyms by most listings. They are
  not the same rooms and are not sold together.
